Mott MacDonaldis a world leader in tunnelling. We have a strong international reputation based on success in many high profile projects around the globe. In the UK, the tunnels team is based in Croydon and London and is around 125 in number, there are similar numbers working mainly in Asia and North America.

We have led many of the major rail, metro, highway and water/wastewater projects undertaken by the Group. Our previous successes include:

• The Channel Tunnel, Heathrow Express Rail Link and the Jubilee Line Extension in the UK
• Boston Central Artery, San Diego Mission Valley East LRT tunnels and the Los Angeles Metro in the USA
• Bangkok Metro, Singapore Metro and Delhi Metro in Asia

Currently, our teams are working on a number of world-class projects including:

• Karahnjukar Hydropower Project, Iceland
• Crossrail, UK
• SMART, Malaysia
• A3 Hindhead Tunnel, UK
• Taiwan High Speed Rail, Taiwan

Tunnelling involves a broad range of disciplines including geotechnical and structural engineering, mechanical and electrical systems, fire and life safety. Being part of the tunnels division means that you are at the heart of the project. I've truly enjoyed my time at Mott MacDonald.
