Energy

Since joining the air quality and carbon team in Brighton I've worked on a diverse number of projects in many countries. These have included some of the worlds largest CCGTs in the Middle East to assessing the impacts on local air quality as a result of a development within the UK.

So far within I've had the chance to go on site visits to Malta and Ireland which was a great chance to visit countries I had not been to before. Working in the energy unit enables you to undertake a vast variety of work ensuring every week at work is interesting and different. All the teams have a wide cultural background, as well as a good mix of graduates and experienced staff. One of the best aspects of working in energy is that everyone is treated the same, whether you're a divisional director or a new graduate; you're considered an integral part of the team.

Combined with working in a diverse office comprising many nationalities, working for the energy unit in Brighton means you live in great place. Brighton is a friendly cosmopolitan city with a vast array of amusements to keep you entertained. Brighton has a mixture of festivals throughout the year ranging from street performances to live music. In addition, there is the Brighton centre which hosts a variety of mainstream bands. Mix this with the usual Friday evening visit to one of the many local pubs and weekend beach barbeques with colleagues and you can see weekends are usually as busy as the working week!
