Lorna Brooks

I joined Mott MacDonald’s environment team as a graduate environmentalist in 2007 specialising in waste management following my MSc.
I wanted to work for a company where I could follow those aspects of environmental science that I enjoyed in my studies, and the multi-disciplinary nature of Mott MacDonald has allowed me to do this.
The company presents many opportunities to work with people in other disciplines, both within the Group and externally. This has enabled me to expand my knowledge base, gain contacts and develop exciting projects.
Projects I’ve worked on include an environmental statement for a 60MW renewable electricity plant and providing environmental input to design changes on the Crossrail network.
The transition from university to employment is not always an easy one, but the people at Mott MacDonald are always approachable and willing to help. Weekly team meetings ensure that everyone is up to date with division and Group activities. As Mott MacDonald is a global company, occasions such as the Environment Day, where colleagues from overseas and throughout the UK get together to meet other team members, are very popular.
